After graduating the University of Maryland with academic honors, Erin Shochet went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from Albany Law School.
While at Albany Law School, Erin distinguished herself academically. As a Founders Scholarship recipient, she maintained her class rank in the top 20% and graduated cum laude from Albany Law School in 2008. Her success extended beyond the classroom during a year long internship at two different prosecutor’s offices where Erin handled criminal cases and conducted bench trials.
Erin’s interest in medical litigation was inspired by her position on the Albany Law Journal of Science and Technology where she was an article editor and authored a note on immigrants’ rights to health care.
Erin was selected by her professors as an Albany Law School representative in a national trial competition where her team was trying a medical malpractice case. This experience prepared Erin well for joining the MedLaw team after graduating law school. Since that time she has become a vital member of the MedLaw team, handling complex discovery, drafting significant motions, and representing clients at deposition. Erin is dedicated to protecting and helping seriously injured patients and achieving the best possible result for them.
Erin is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Brooklyn Bar Association, where she is a member of the Young Lawyers’ Committee.
